OM BØKENE:

Song of Seikilos er første bok ut i serien The Kairos Albums. Fotografiene er personlige tolkninger fra til sammen fire måneders seiling i Hellas i perioden 2008–2011. Forfatter, dramatiker og mytolog Terje Nordby har skrevet forord. Boken er en påkostet produksjon i kun 300 eksemplarer, signert av begge fotografene, stemplet og nummerert. Tittelen er hentet fra verdens eldste komplette musikkstykke som noensinne er funnet, datert fra ca 200 år før Kristus. Vi gjør Seikilos ord til våre, som han fikk inngravert på hennes grav:

Cinnamon Waves er andre bok i serien The Kairos Albums. Fotografiene er personlige tolkninger fra ett års seiling i Karibien i perioden 2012–2013. Boken er en påkostet produksjon i kun 250 signerte og nummererte eksemplarer.

“Torbjørn was eight and Telma five when we set sail in earnest. These two city kids were taught to watch out for the tram and to wait for the green man to appear at the crossing lights before walking. However, the thin layer of civilization and way of living adapted to city life wore off surprisingly quickly. Two other children emerged, wild and untamed, as if they had been there the whole time and were just waiting for the right time to step forward. And if there was ever a suitable time to come out of their shell it was definitely then. To be sure we were homeschooling them, but the pressures of time and heavy book bags were nowhere around. Without a set schedule they had the most valuable thing of all – time. An endless amount of time was theirs to discover the world and themselves.”

Det var ikke få tanker som surret rundt i hodet før vi kastet loss og krysset Atlanterhavet. Over 10 års planlegging og sparing lå bak oss. Foran oss lå drømmen. Sammen med våre to barn og et kobbel ulike kameraer skulle den nå oppfylles. Det ble selvfølgelig helt annerledes enn vi kunne forutse – på godt og på vondt. 105 bilder fra et års seiling mellom Karibiens krydderøyer – derav tittelen. To fotografers personlige tolkninger fra land og vann fyller permene. Boken er raus. Ikke bare selve formatet som bikker opp mot 30 cm i begge retninger, men også de visuelle stemmene har fått lov til å strekke seg. Vi håper det vil gjenspeile reisens mange fasetter både fysisk og mentalt. Og kanskje kan de sparke i gang en realisering av dine lengsler, også?
